We all have that one or more clothe we love so much and despite how long we have had them, we just are not ready to let go yet. As some of these garments get old, they tend to produce some kind of musky smell that can be offensive and hence, discourages us from wanting to wear them.
WHERE THE ODOR ORIGINATE FROM
The odor produced can vary from garment to garment in which some can smell worse than others. These smell can come from food, perfume, or cigarette smoke, e.t.c.
As much as these odor can come from a variety of things, the major source is from substances from our bodies. These substances can range from, perfumes, sweat, body oils, and a host of other things produced from our bodies which these garments absorb.
HOW TO GET RID OF THE ODOR FROM CLOTHES
The thought that comes to mind when one perceives these odor is to take the clothe(s) for dry cleaning with the hope that the odor will disappear, but most times that doesn’t help as the smell still lingers, bringing us back where we started off.
Eliminating odor involves masking the smell or changing the molecule of the odor that has attached itself to the clothe.
The solution to masking or getting rid of that offensive odor from your clothe lies in VODKA. Yup! Vodka would simply do the trick. Vodka according to wikipedia “is a clear distilled alcoholic beverage with different varieties originating in Poland and Russia. It is composed primarily of water and ethanol, but sometimes with traces of impurities and flavorings.”
Simply pour some vodka into a spray bottle and spritz it on the intended clothe. That way the vodka interacts with the odor molecule on the clothe so that when the alcohol in the vodka evaporates, it takes the odor with it.
Bear in mind however, not to dilute the vodka. The high alcoholic content in the vodka is what makes it effective. Diluting it will defeat the purpose.
Next time you think of taking your clothe to a dry cleaner because of some offensive odor, grab your bottle of vodka and let it do the magic.
